Little Break

Life has been pretty busy lately (much busier than I would like for the summer.)

I've been a hard workin' girl and I'm trying to get ready for my medical internship that starts much sooner than I would like.

This unfortunately means I'm going to be taking a little break from blogging, I hope to get back to it at some point, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Keep checking back every so often too because I think I might even start a sister blog to this one!

(Once things slow down a little of course ha ha.)

I hope to be back soon though!

Kitchen Love

Yesterday my Mom and I went to the Mall to do a little shopping.

(Something you may not know about me is that I park in certain parts of the Mall so I can walk through my favorite sections, even if I'm not going to buy anything, just so I can stare at all the lovely things. My favorites are the shoe and kitchen sections.)

However, to get to the point, I realized that the Kitchenaid standmixer that I LOVE (!!!) is on a sale. (And a reallllly good sale at that!) 

Now I'm trying to pick a color, I can't decide between Aqua Sky and Ice.

(I know, it's silly, but since I haven't started my internship yet I refuse to make really complicated decisions.)

What does everyone think? I would love the feedback! 

Now, thanks to the question posed by my very smart Mom, I'm trying to decide what kitchen would fit those colors. Here are some of my ideas.

Girly Fun

So this morning I sliced my thigh while shaving and I was hating being a woman for a minute.

But then...

I got over my second of whining and remembered how much I LOVE being a girly girl.

Summer and Some Shopping

So...

again, I have to apologize to taking so long to post. Oops!

I promise I'm tying to get better!

For some reason summer, in all its glory, is making somehow distracted.

I even have intentions of posting these great things and then it doesn't happen, typically because I forget to take pictures (it's a sickness.)

For starters, here is a cute picture from Kara's Party Ideas (that I totally found on Pinterest) And I thought it was happy and cute enough that you might forgive me for not posting more.

The post I had intended for today was a cooking/food post.

For dinner tonight I made turkey, bruschetta, and a salad. (I have to say the salad was pretty darn great. It had fresh lettuce from the farmer's market, strawberries, dried cranberries and feta, mmmm.)

 Then for dessert I made my Mom vanilla mousse.

I was a little worried at first because it wasn't setting up as quickly as my chocolate mousse does but I checked it when I got home tonight and it was perfect, yay!

So from now on, if I forget to take pictures of my life I'm just going to post about something random from the internet. Because, honestly, who just wants to read a bunch of words? Blogs are always way more fun with pictures.

Today, I discovered a new website to feed my shopping addiction. (Great right? Like I totally needed another. Or maybe not.)

The shop is called Questhaven Fashions and I found the CUTEST pair of vintage-like earrings and as the cherry on top, they are only $12! They are for sure going on my wishlist!

So, again, I want to thank everyone for sticking with me and my lack of posting.

Resolutions and a Wedding

On Sunday we went to a wonderful wedding for our friends Mike and Renee Sparrow!

They are such a fun couple and their wedding was so sweet, it was great to spend this special day with them. 

However, I am the worst at taking pictures and (despite my New Year's resolution to take more pictures) we only got one during the entire wedding. (I know, it's terrible!)

And of course the picture we got was of the cake, I'm obsessed with fancy cakes. Seriously. 

Is that a beautiful cake or what?!

So after only getting one picture at the wedding, I've renewed my resolution to take more pictures!

I've missed you!

I'm so sorry I've been missing for a little bit! Our internet wasn't working correctly and I haven't been able to post, but now I'm back! Please don't give up on me yet, as long as my internet keeps working, I'll keep on posting!

So here are some updates of what I've been up to...
1. I been applying for some jobs, so keep your fingers crossed for me!
2. I got a tetanus shot on Wednesday, not so fun, but after doing a lot of arm dancing I'm in pretty good shape!
3. E introduced me to the show Happy Endings, love it! Seriously, watch it!
4. I wrapped a gift for a wedding on Sunday and I'm seriously proud of the wrapping job, I've FINALLY figured out how to wrap gifts ha ha.
5. My Mom and I went to a neighborhood bible study tonight
6. The decorations for my new studio apartment (aka my room) are coming together
7. I had lunch with my Momma today, then went to visit E during his lunch break and I'm meeting for a lunch date tomorrow
8. I've been soaking up this time to read for fun
9. We went out to one of our favorite restaurants on Saturday to celebrate E's birthday
10. Last, but certainly not least I'm attending my first bachelorette party (casual dinner at a friend's house) and then a wedding for our friends on Sunday! I'm so excited for both and hopefully I will be on top of things enough to take pictures and follow with posts, yay!

  

 Isn't this a cute picture?! It isn't me (I wish!) but thanks to the blog Love you, mean it I can totally pretend this is where I'm reading my book. Since I can't keep my nose out of the book, I figured it was pretty perfect. What are you all reading right now? Do you have any recommendations? I'm going to be done with this one soon and I'm going to need something to read next!

Let the Season of Weddings Begin!

So this summer is the summer of weddings!

In the last three days I have gotten three (!) invitations. Two for weddings and one for a bridal shower! Wedding season is officially is session ladies and gents!

Here's the outline:

June 10- Our friends from High School, Mike & Renee, get married!

June 23- My sorority sister, Heidi, gets married!

and

August 4- one of my best friends, Tara, is getting married and I'm a bridesmaid!

(She is also the girl who introduced me to E! Gotta give credit where credit is due ha ha.)

I also have bridal showers and bachelorette parties to attend and plan!

This is Tara's shower invite, so cute right?

Now I have to search through my millions of recipes to find the best one for my little recipe card.

 

I've never been much of a wedding girl, I mean I love them (who doesn't? Am I right?) but you know what I mean, I'm not the girl who has her wedding planned, so this summer is going to be a crash course for me and it is going to be so fun and pretty darn exciting!

Just a little travel wish

As I sit here studying for finals it makes me want to take a trip like crazy! My new focus is on Australia! So as much as I try to study, my mind still wanders and it wanders to the opera house, the beaches and the great barrier reef. One day I'll go, but for now I'm going to be in Northern Idaho studying. However, at this point I'm so excited to move back home to Boise that it is basically as exciting as going to Australia :)

Well Hello Ms. Hepburn

I saw this picture on Pinterest today and though it was just too cute. I have been wanting to learn to golf forever and E* has promised to teach me this summer. If I wasn't beyond excited before, this picture totally did it for me! How cute is she?!
I recently finished reading a book that uses her for inspiration for how to be a classy and professional women, it was so good! It's called How to Be a Hepburn in a Hilton World and it is such a fantastic read. My lovely friend let me borrow it but I'm tempted to buy my own copy so I can read it over and over!

 

Now I have to find a new book to read, any recommendations? I would love your help!

As a little fun fact on this topic, I have to share a little something special with you. People who know me know that I love Christmas, seriously, I start playing Christmas music in October. Every year in Boise there is a Festival of Trees put on by one of our local hospitals. The trees are decorated with themes and two years ago there was a "Breakfast at Tiffany's" themed tree, it was so cute and my favorite of the year!
