The closer and closer I get to my supervised practice placement the more I realize I still need to make some major strides with my professional attire.
Thus far I am pretty proud of my 3 pencil skirts (that actually fit well!) and my beautiful pearl studs that my Momma got me, but that's about it. I'm still looking for blazers and pants that fit well, about a million button-up shirts, comfy flats, Danskos and a watch.
Today I'm going to focus on the watch, mostly because it seemed the least intimidating. Wrong. We don't have much leniency with style or even much color and I'm starting to see that is a little difficult when a person (me) likes things as ruffled and girly as they come.
These are the watches I would by if I weren't in my chosen profession...
That thought is a little depressing, so I have decided to think of them more as "weekend watches." Meaning, these are the watches I would wear on the weekend, and then I don't have to give up on them completely.
Bracelet-like Guess Watch
The Pink Kate Spade Watch
Betsey Johnson Printed Rose WatchThe Pearly Watch
Betsey Johnson Ribbon Strap Watch
AND...
The Perfect Badgley Mischka Bow Watch
I am in LOVE with this watch! However, it totally isn't professional enough for what I need. So I've decided to take a cue from the tortoise shell and head in that direction. For some reason, tortoise shell always reminds me of the glasses my Mom had in the early 90's (sorry Mom!) but I do like how versatile it is.
So here are some watches I could actually wear...
Michael Kors Tortoise Shell Watch
Anne Klein Tortoise Shell Watch
However, I don't have a Michael Kors budget and I'm okay with that. And I did find some pretty darn cute watches from Target! What more could you want?
I also found the watch I already have (and love) in tortoise shell!
For now, I'll be sticking with the watch I have while I'm on the hunt for the winning new one. And here it is:
It also reminds me of this Kate Spade Watch and I think that is pretty stinkin' neat!
Here is the little project I've been working on and I finished it last night.
xoxo Cassi
